Welcome to the VCU Hillel Webpage
At
Virginia Commonwealth University Jewish students are a welcomed part of
the Rams community. Out of approximately 23,000 undergraduate and
graduate students, approximately 3% are Jewish. However, please note
there are no specific tracking mechanisms currently in place for
religious preference.
VCU Hillel maintains a Jewish presence on the VCU campus as it provides social, educational, religious, and cultural opportunities to Jewish students. VCU is proud of the VCU Center for Judaic Studies. It encourages understanding of the Judaic component of religious and philosophical thought, history and the arts in the Western civilization. Click here for course information about the VCU Center for Judaic Studies.
In 2008 - 2009 the will
be a direct liaison with the community Shlicha (Emissary of Israel),
Dana Ragosin (dragosin@jewishrichmond.org) and she will work with
the Hillel director to provide more outreach to Jewish students on
campus.
